Northshore Reconstruction - Project Introduction

With the start of the Northshore Reconstruction Project approaching this spring, we wanted to issue some quick updates on the schedule and some previews of how Northshore will look upon completion.

Bids for the project will be opened next week, followed by awarding the contract in the first week of March. One of the first items for discussion with the Contractor will be their anticipated construction schedule. We are anticipating a closure of Northshore Drive to through traffic for most of the construction season. The Contractor may close Northshore no earlier than April 1st, and must reopen the Northshore prior to the start of school in August. Temporary access will be maintained for residents along Northshore Drive and Penrose from either the west or east depending on where the Contractor is working. More details on the schedule will provided as soon as they are available. Changes to access to residents within the construction areas will be communicated directly with those residents throughout the project.

Below are a few rendered images of what the reconstructed Northshore Drive will look like once complete. Note that there driveways and approaches are shown for reference, and each property will have a new concrete approach that is field fit to match existing garage or driveway dimensions.
