Northshore Reconstruct - Project Update 7/17
Good Afternoon,
The project team will be coordinating driveway curb drops locations and widths next week. If you have specific requests for the project team, please reach out to Beau Rothschadl (605-661-0002) and he will meet with you on-site to discuss.
Significant progress was made on site this week as the completion date nears. Utility and subgrade work will continue throughout the entire project area over the next week. This will likely mean changes in access for various residents on a day-to-day basis. Affected property Owners will be notified before any new changes in access or loss of garage/driveway access during working hours. Please read on below for additional details:
Past Week Construction Activities
The Utility Contractor has:
Completed storm sewer installation west of Penrose
Completed a water main adjustment for storm sewer pipe install
Completed concrete block mat installation
Private utilities progressed on relocations and adjustments

Upcoming Construction Activities
Private Utility Companies will:
Continue relocation of facilities as needed for paving operations
The Utility Contractor will:
Complete final storm sewer inlet installations along Northshore Drive
Complete water main insulation for protection of shallow mains
Complete hydrant adjustments and replacement (affected property owners will be notified 24-hours in advance of shutoff)
The Grading Contractor will:
Continue cement subgrade stabilization from east to west along Northshore
Place and fine grade topsoil above the concrete block mats
The Paving Contractor will:
Fully mobilize crews and equipment next week
Begin trimming subgrade and setup for mainline pave of Northshore Drive
Access Updates
Northshore will remain closed to all through traffic unless otherwise notified. Through traffic shall continue to use to the Highway 105 Detour.
Residents on the south side of Northshore Drive will have intermittent access to driveways during the cement stabilization process. The Project team will communicate the temporary loss of access so Residents can plan ahead.
Penrose Residents will continue to utilize detour route and the temporary gravel access path from west end of construction limits.
Residents west of Penrose on Northshore will utilize detour route and temporary gravel access path from west end of construction limits.
