Northshore Reconstruct - Project Update 6/22

Good Afternoon,


Construction is continuing to make progress last week. Looking ahead for this week and next construction should be moving west of Penrose Drive. Affected property Owners will be notified again before any new changes in access. The date for this change is access is to-be-determined. Please read on below for additional details:


Past Week Construction Activities

The Utility Contractor has:

  • Completed all remaining water main installation between Penrose and Leisure Lane. Water main has been pressure tested and will be put back into service once it passes mandatory bacteria tests.

  • Installed 3 storm sewer drainage inlets and 1 junction box

  • Completed a short duration water shutoff for connecting and stubbing out a future water connection.


The Grading Contractor has:

  • Continued Northshore Drive corridor grading

  • Removed the asphalt on Northshore from Penrose to the west end of the project

Upcoming Construction Activities

The Utility Contractor will:

  • Intend to complete storm sewer installation between Leisure Lane and Penrose Drive by early next week.

  • Begin to install mainline storm sewer pipe west of Penrose Drive by the end of this week or early into next week.

  • Remove the temporary water main and move services to the new water main


The Grading Contractor will:

  • Remove the remaining gravel subbase on Northshore west of Penrose

  • Maintain or reconstruct temporary construction access paths as needed

  • Remove Driveways along Northshore west of Penrose

  • May begin subgrade preparation on Northshore between Leisure Lane and Penrose Drive.


Access Updates

  • Northshore will remain closed to all through traffic unless otherwise notified. Through traffic shall continue to use to the Highway 105 Detour.

  • Penrose Residents will continue to utilize detour route and the temporary gravel access path from west end of construction limits.

  • Residents west of Penrose on Northshore will utilize detour route and temporary gravel access path from west end of construction limits.

  • Residents east of Penrose on Northshore will utilize temporary gravel paths from east end of construction limits.
