Construction Start Date
Good Morning All,
The Penrose Drive Reconstruction Project is due to begin Monday June 9th.
With this project beginning we just wanted to give you a quick update on what's ahead.
The Construction Schedule submitted by the Contractor is as follows, but please note that the schedule is subject to change daily and is generally a guide for how the contractor plans to approach the work.
Construction Event | Start | Finish |
Removals and Earthwork | 6/9/2025 | 6/20/2025 |
Utility Construction | 6/23/2025 | 7/4/2025 |
Mainline Paving | 7/7/2025 | 7/18/2025 |
Driveways, Sidewalks & Asphalt Paving | 7/21/2025 | 8/1/2025 |
Seeding and Signage | 8/4/2025 | 8/8/2025 |
The first phase of the work you can expect to see beginning next week includes removals and earthwork. Our survey crews will be marking the removal limits in the project area such as cut lines on asphalt and concrete pavements. The Contractor will begin by removing pavements, signs, trees, and other items marked for removal. If you have any personal belongings such as flag poles, landscaping or yard decorations you do not want removed, please remove them from the project limits this weekend or early next week.
Also included in this first phase of the project will be the removal of the temporary access path from the Dakota Valley High School parking lot to the north end of Penrose Drive. The temporary path from the Dakota Valley Elementary will remain in place until later in the project, and will serve as the primary access to the north end of Penrose until further notice. Please use caution when driving on this path as there are other contractors working for the school district that will also be utilizing this road for construction traffic.

Penrose Drive will generally be closed during the construction working day. A temporary parking area will be established on the north side of Northshore Drive for times when residents are unable to drive directly to their homes. There will be a trail established on the east side of Penrose that will be maintained throughout construction which is intended primarily as a pedestrian path to homes within the construction zone, but may be used intermittently for vehicular travel and as a secondary access for Emergency vehicles.

You can anticipate seeing posts and updates weekly, with additional updates as needed for more urgent notifications such as water shut downs and changes in access. Beau Rothschadl and Ross Kuchta of Stockwell Engineers will be be your primary contacts for the duration of this reconstruction project. If you have any questions, please reach out to one of us and we will do our best to assist you.
