Northshore Reconstruct - Project Update 8/14

Good Afternoon,

Significant progress was made on site these last two weeks as the Contractor has finished paving mainline on Northshore Drive. Concrete paving will continue next week as our grading contractor will begin subgrade preparation on the trail and the concrete contractor will begin paving the trail and residential driveways. This will likely mean changes in access for various residents on a day-to-day basis. Affected property Owners will be notified before any new changes in access or loss of garage/driveway access during working hours. Please read on below for additional details:

Past Week Construction Activities

The Grading Contractor has:

• Began grading the shared use path between Penrose & Leisure Lane

• Stabilized subgrade for asphalt tie-ins on Northshore

The Concrete Contractor has:

• Finished Northshore Drive concrete street paving

• Paved the concrete entrances for Dakota Valley Elementary

• Began grading residential driveways along Northshore

The Asphalt Contractor has:

• Paved the east tie-in from the existing asphalt to the new concrete pavement

• Paved the bottom lift of the west tie-in from the existing asphalt to the new concrete

Upcoming Construction Activities

The Grading Contractor will:

• Begin cement treating the subgrade underneath the trail on the north side of Northshore Drive

• Remove existing concrete shared used path between Dakota Valley Elementary and Penrose Drive

The Concrete Contractor will:

• Begin paving the shared use path between Penrose & Leisure Lane

• Begin grading and pouring residential driveways on Northshore

The Asphalt Contractor will:

• Pave the top lift on the west asphalt tie-in between new concrete and existing asphalt

• Pave asphalt portion of Dakota Valley Elementary School driveways

Access Updates

• Northshore Drive is expected to be open to through traffic upon completion of construction activities for the day Monday evening. Residents should be prepared for school traffic to be using the new road on Northshore Drive. Expect heavy traffic in the morning before school starts and, in the afternoon, once school gets out.

• Construction activities will continue throughout the few weeks, so please expect small delays in traffic due to our construction crews continuing work. Please drive slowly through the construction zone and be conscientious of the crews trying to complete their work. There may be longer delays in which we will recommend using the detour.
