Northshore Reconstruct - Project Update 7/31
Good Evening,
The project team will be continuing coordinating driveway curb drops locations and widths next week for west of Penrose Drive. If you have not been notified or have specific requests for the project team, please reach out to Beau Rothschadl (605-661-0002) and he will meet with you on-site to discuss.
Concrete Paving will continue Monday morning west of Penrose. Residents should stay off the new concrete paving until further notice. Residents living west of Penrose Drive will have to continue to park outside the roadway and walk to their houses until further notice, the project team will continue to update residents with access changes throughout the week. Concrete paving will occur from 83 - 67 Northshore Monday morning. If you are within this area, please park outside of the project and walk until further notice.
Significant progress was made on site this week as the Contractor has paved approximately half of Northshore Drive. Concrete paving will continue Monday morning beginning west of Penrose Drive, starting west of the elementary school and continuing east approximately 600'. This will likely mean changes in access for various residents on a day-to-day basis. Affected property Owners will be notified before any new changes in access or loss of garage/driveway access during working hours. Please read on below for additional details:
Past Week Construction Activities
The Grading Contractor has:
Completed cement stabilized of all Northshore Drive mainline
The Concrete Contractor has:
Paved approximately 1200 feet of Northshore Drive mainline
Trimmed the subgrade west of Penrose drive to bottom of concrete grade
Set stringline along Northshore Drive west of Penrose Drive

Upcoming Construction Activities
The Paving Contractor will:
Begin mainline paving Northshore Drive beginning west of Penrose Drive and complete the mainline road connecting to the paving that happened last week.
Begin grading the elementary school driveways
Begin grading and pouring residential driveways
Access Updates
Residents east of Penrose Drive should continue to access their houses from Exit 4.
Residents west of Penrose Drive will lose access to their house due to concrete paving until otherwise notified, 83-67 Northshore will lose access Monday morning, and 67-59 Northshore will tentatively lose access Wednesday Morning. the Project Team will contact you once access will be restored. Be expected to have to park off site or at the designated parking areas and walk for at least 3-7 days.
Residents west of Penrose on Northshore will utilize detour route and temporary gravel access path from west end of construction limits.
Northshore will remain closed to all through traffic unless otherwise notified. Through traffic shall continue to use to the Highway 105 Detour.
Residents on the south side of Northshore Drive will have intermittent access to driveways during the paving process. The Project team will communicate the temporary loss of access so Residents can plan ahead.
Penrose Residents will continue to utilize detour route and the temporary gravel access path from west end of construction limits.
