Penrose Drive Construction Update
Residents,
Starting next Monday, August 4th, Northshore Drive will be closed to through traffic. Residents using the parking area will still be able to access the parking area from the east side of Northshore Drive. This closure is to complete grading and operations and concrete paving at the Northshore & Penrose Drive intersection as well as for patching of the temporary asphalt on Northshore Drive.
Residents using the temporary access behind the Elementary School will still be able to reach the North end of Penrose from the west using the attached detour plan.
We also wanted to note that the reconstructed railroad bridge over the Big Sioux River is anticipated to open this weekend. The railroad has informed us that there is to be an increase in rail traffic with multiple trains expected per day. While utilizing this detour route, take care and watch for trains before entering the tracks.
This detour should be in place until Friday, August 15th, or as soon as this work is complete.
